If you are anything like us you have already checked your draws and are getting ready for the most wonderful time of the year!!! HUNTING SEASON. You have been waiting all year and now is the time to prepare. Here are a few steps to help you get ready.
- Check your gear – Whether you are an archer or a rifle hunter or both you are gonna want to make sure your gear is in tip top shape. Check your bow strings and cables. Bow manufacturers recommend changing your string every 3 years for average shooters or every 2 years if you are an avid shooter. We custom order in your strings to your color specifications and have the best pro shop in Alberta to tune your bow. Sight in your rifle at the start of every season and to avoid disappointment in a shot. Have a problem? Come see our in-store gunsmith for a remedy.
- Get off the couch! Getting in a little exercise before hunting season never hurt anyone. When you see the bull of a lifetime and need to chase him down a few miles you will be glad you did. Take your Chainsaw and clear your trails. This is a great workout, and you will be able to slip in and out of your area in a much quieter fashion. Have a lot of ground to cover? Check out our line of E-bikes to help you out. Bakcou and Rambo bikes available.
- Scout it out. It does not matter if you are trekking through new territory this year or hunting the same old haunts. This is the time to start scouting and find that opening morning target. Put up a few trail cameras like the Covert code black and get out on a few trails. Don’t forget to put out some minerals like the Antler Obsession mix or Deer Cane Black Magic to keep them in front of your camera. Be sure to check local rules about baiting first.
Don’t forget to come get your tags and get in on our annual hunting contest draw. See you soon and remember, aim small miss small!!
